Default Dump Valve Adjusting

Hello

I know there are a lot of anti atmosferic dump valve people on here but I bought my 95 WRX wagon with one already fitted and I didn't get the original recirc either.

I can't figure out what type it is. I think it's quite an old one. My best guess is it's a long since discontinued APS DV. It's cylindrical with the inlet at the bottom, a horn at the bottom of one side with the vacuum line at the top on the oposite side. It also has a long adjustment nut on the top. I've played around with the adjustment and all it seems to do is weaken the internal spring so that it dumps at lower boost and subsequently lets more boost (stays open longer) out at this setting.

I'm just wondering how to best set this thing up.

The car is very lurchy as you come off and on the throttle and it sometimes feels like there is a boost leak at the higher boost end.

Could the seal on the DV be buggered?

Any help would be great.

Thanks
Dave

Best bet would probably be to get hold of an OE recirculating dump valve second hand either from here or ebay. Shouldn't cost much more than a tenner or so. Swap them over and see if there is any improvement.
