Default Missing at high revs, since switching to SUL

Hi All,

For the last 2 tanks of fuel I've switched to Tesco super unleaded (97 Ron, as we don't seem to get the 99 stuff in the Midlands).

Anyway, I seemed to have develop a bit of missing/spluttering at high revs at full throttle.

Anybody any ideas why, should I switch back to normal unleaded? Which I add, I NEVER had any similar issues with!

The car is a 2001 WRX and standard...

Thanks for your comments,

Charlie

Default Update...

I have noticed that the problem only happens at 5,000 RPM, hesitates a little and then continues.

I have tried diluting the Tesco SU will other SU brands, but the problem is still to go away

Would the above suggest that it may be problems with my MAF sensor and do you think it could be dreaded silicone in my fuel (although I live in the East Midlands and not the South East).

PS no ECL has come on at all, since this problem has occurred.

Any advise would be appreciated

Come on, has anybody experienced this/a similar fault before?

Otherwise it will be a trip to Subaru and a minimum diagnosis charge of £50, before they've even told me what's wrong
