Question Irratic boost on dyno

Had a dyno run done yesterday and Clive said my boost was slightly irratic, nothing to be concerned about as it was not adversly affecting the engine.
How can i cure this irratic boost?

My bet is that he mentioned the words... "It needs a remap" and then told you about Ecutek ....

It is a common technique to drum up business.

Have you logged it on the road, which is where most of your driving would be?

No he didnt mention anything about a remap etc. Not sure about the logging, how do you do that?
The boost curve on the dyno printout was erratic.
Just wondered how this problem can be cured. Feels ok when driving, boost gauge on order so when fitted i can keep an eye on it.

You can do it with a laptop and a OBDII cable along with either a copy of Ecutek Delta-Dash or Ecuexplorer.... or find someone locally with both.

If you are at the scoobycity rolling road day I will have mine with me if you want to check it. or pm me and we could meet up next time I am up norwich way (next week or so )

may also be related to the load on the rolling road and it being different to the load on the road the car experiances and might be rock steady on the road.

is it standard set up of running boost controller etc?

needs different way of doing it depending on the year..

but you should see boost flutuation on a boost gauge which if you don't have already would be easy to plumb in and a worth while investment anyway.. from about £30.
