Hello people , just fitted a recon engine to my 95 wrx,

Its running and driving sweet as , apart from the CEL is on constantly ,

Did then test with black wires to read the code and it just pulsed evenly indicating that no codes have been stored ?

I reset it and went out for a drive, as soon as i started car , it came straight back on , drove for a few miles the checked again and no codes ??

Im baffeled what could be causing this ???

once had this before did you use wiring loom off your old engine mate ??

check make sure connections are good on all wires might have pushed one slighly out when connecting , check earths too

Have checked all connections all are good , do you think adding a few more earths would solve the problem ?

did you use your old knock sensor .? cause they have to be fitted at certain angle dont they when bolted to block ?.. think they do anyay , and i always have done and had no probs my problem was the purge control selonoid which i was going to mention . also afms sometimes give out cels and dont record on ecu especailly the weaker ones

There was already a knock sensor on the block i got mate , purge control solinoid ?? where would i find this ? and afms ??? sorry mate bit new to the engine side of things just learning as i go along
