the noise isnt from the wastegate, it is the air pushing back through the turbine blades when the throttle is shut, you can get this noise if you remove the dumpvalve and block off the pipes but this is only safe on td05etc. hope this helps!

It will probably have a vf24 as the td05 only came on early wrx classics.

there is no such thing as waste gate chatter...if you run your car without a dump valve then its the noise of air hitting the turbine blades

thought i was correct , but dja why is it only safe on td05 etc. i run a gt30r hybrid rotated i get it with atmos dv . think the problem here is snaped shafts as turbine is stalled by the built up pressue yes . but if a atmos dumpvalve releases the built up pressure then its not so bad as the rest isnt so built up and under as much pressure . so you just get a bit of surge which sounds good but doesnt do much damage . i thought if you block your original rc dv up it would stall turbo and you would be worse off as your turbo would stall and take more time to spool in next gear and this could snap a turbo shaft

ha ha , so you want sound for show then not for go ?( nowt to be proud of bum rape you know ) you didnt do bad at all if you kept up with a cossie with 500 at wheels anyway . like i said unless played with .. but a cossie with 500 bhp would be **** round bends with all that lag .. had one at 430 ish and was like washing machine till 5000 rpm 306 turbo diesel would have kept up with it untill turbo spooled
