Default Not making full boost

ok so last night i stopped off and filled the car up at the normal shell garage, on my drive down the a127 i noticed the car just wasnt pulling like it does, looked at the boost gauge and its only reading 0.5 bar of boost. normally it boosts just over a bar, it does boost more when i hit 5k revs! but could be causing this??? the boost seems all over the place, most of the time it will stay at half a bar, sometimes it will boost normal and then sometimes it will over boost! tried reseting the ecu but no differece.

also while playing with another scoob i noticed abit of smoke in the rear view mirror, could the turbo be on its way?? its a 93 wrx

It shouldn't boost over 1 bar (unless the ecu isn't standard or you have a boost controller).
Possibly the actuator needs looking at and i would get the turbo checked out.

ahhhhh well the black stuff is better than white or blue right? lol yea it was you fella. i thought at first it was white which got me thinking the turbo was gonna let go, so the ecu must be limiting boost cos of the overfuel??

seems a bit of a coincidence , mate. as you have said, it was alright until you filled up. hope you get it sorted soon, whatever the problem is.

ok the problem seems to of gone! i didnt reset the ecu again i just drove the car easy but alot! got the tank down to empty and filled up at a different shell garage, drove the car off boost for about 20 miles and then decided to see what would happen with the boost, hits 1 bar everytime and no smoke so sounds like it was a tank of juice??

nothing to clever, oil change, temp sensor needs changing i think as sometimes when cold i get the CEL and fault code points to that, 2 new back tyres (ouch) and rust around the rear wheel arch is really pissing me off so gonna get that sorted to...maybe get a knocklink fitted. after spending all the money on rebuilding the engine last summer i dont want it to go again
