Default What's next?

Hi Folks,
I have a 94 wrx, with a sports cat, straight through centre and firestorm back box. Will soon be fitting a scoobyecu type chip so in all a fair amount of horses more than standard. Hopefully this will do me for a while, but I was wondering if these mods will show up any weak spots?
Is there anything I should keep an eye on or change as a precaution?
Cheers all
Bod

Knocklink indicates any possible detonation warning (do a google search on it and you will find plenty on it).
Top mount is the standard intercooler on imprezas lots of people change to a front on earlier cars as they are more efficent (i think the old top mounts limit is at max 280-290bhp but that is pushing it) you can always fit a late model top mount (STI 5) but front mounts are better if you want to do high speeds for a long time.
Changing the brakes (if you haven't done it already) as the 2 pots are pure ****e lots of options but depends on your wheel size.

Ah, cheers for clearing that up. So is the knocklink some kind of light or gauge then? And is it going to be prone to detonation then?

There are a few pictures if you do a search on Google images.(search for knocklink)
Whether or not you should have one is a point of contention (i wouldn't bother with the set up you will have but other people will say get one).
If the chip and car is set up correctly you shouldn't get detonation but that doesn't mean you won't as each car is different even if they are set up the same imo.

Do you still have 2 pots though (the 4 pots have SUBARU embossed on them) if not worth saving some money for them,i've done mine with uprated pads and they are soooooo much better than the 2 pots.

For me 4 pots were £250 (pads/discs but i bought new ones anyway) plus fitting ,Goodridge hosing and better brake fluid came to about £500 in total
but you could save yourself some money by fitting them yourself.
https://www.scoobynet.com/wheels-tyr...-bleeding.html this may help if you get 4 pots

Thats not too much then. Can they be used on the standard size discs? Just the drooved/drilled ones I have arent bad. And, I have 16" wheels, so looks like I would have to change them, which is a bitch as Ive not long had them.

You need discs/pads suitable for 4 pots unfortunately.
Right i had 16" wheels already on my car (Borbet C) and the b**tard things wouldn't fit over the 4 pots so i had to buy a set late model standard scooby alloys (£100).
If you are happy with brakes at the moment don't bother changing them just wait till the pads or discs are worn.I changed mine because i got more and more used to the cars performance over a year and after a few scarey moments meant new brakes.

best way to find if your wheels fit is to find a scooby with 4 pots and try 1 of your wheels on the other car

good plan, im not a boy racer so they will probably do for a while. I think I may be getting a track day for my birthday, so that will likely finish them off.
Cheers for the advice.
