Default High Speed Whinning...

When I drive over 100mph (on track obviously), I get a horrible whinning (and no, it's not the missus) which seams to be coming from the drivers wing mirror..?

I'm guessing its due to the frameless windows or something, will the side window lips cure this

I.E (hope you don't mind me borrowing this pic if its yours)

its most likely the glass in your mirror. Have the same problem on my S40 when doing around 120-130mph in france

I would of thought it would be more to do with the windows than the glass in the wing mirror? Could be wrong though?

Anyone else had this and rectified the problem?

next time you hear the noise adjust the mirror to a position that it would be at its most aerodynamic and see if its still there.

"what car do you drive again?" says the "audi guy"

Seeing that your IQ falls somewhere between a turnip and an orange, and I have to explain (again) that this is a SCOOBY forum that is used by a lot of Scooby owners, have a guess what car noob?

Lol was so scared then seeing a pic of my car on a random thread, dear me!

I dont get any sort of whining noise in 3 figure speeds (on private tracks OFC), so could possibly be the cure. They dont look too bad either,

Nice nothing special then, and nothing that warrants you the ability to make fun of my S40, especially seeing as I also have a latest gen e-class

How about this. I will race you, first to 150mph wins.
Your car can do 150mph, right?

I occasionally get a buzz saw/farting noise in my right ear when going faster than I should be. I read on here it was due to the windows. Made me jump the first time mind!

Reading this thread I was just trying to think about how to describe the noise I hear at speed, and that's it, buzz saw/farting.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. But the other 3 scoobs I've been in have never suffered. Does anyonw else? I've no idea what it is and would love to get rid!!

My JDM classic does it when its dry. If I squirt the windscreen washers it stops. I found its the plastic strip, top corner passenger side, of the widscreen that vibrates. I temporarily stuck a bit of tape on and it stopped it.

Dunno if this applies on yours.
