Default Speedo calibration

Any ideas people????

The speedo on my93 WRX has always been out when compared to gps. It is still out after the work to convert it to 6 speed and by the same amout. 12mph throughout the rev range. I am using 17" wheels with 205/45/17 tyres, i'm aware that this is not the standard set up and as such will affect the speedo but these seem a common size on SN so does anyone else have the same problem?

And if anybody knows of a way to calibrate them or somewhere that does this kind of work and would like to let me know then

Thanks in advance

Iain

If it's a constant 12mph and the dial face has been changed to a mph one then I'd guess that the needle was put back on wrong when it was done.

Hopefully a CAREFULL remove and replace of the needle should sort it out.

Ady.

Cheers Ady thank for the reply.

It is a constant 12 mph and the dial face has been changed to a mph one.

I was considering fitting white dial faces as the OE ones are pretty useless at night, but was putting it off as it is a fiddly job. Looks like it may be sooner than I thought.

Thanks for the advice and I hear what you are saying about the carefull removal these needles are SO easy to break.

Would you know if it could be the dial face itself that is not positioned correctly or is there a recess or sumething to line them up. The dash and clock are one place i've not yet had the pleasure of exploring lol.

Thanks again

Iain

The new dial can be moved very slightly but this would not account for a differance of 12mph. May just be that the dial is not accurate.

White faced dials!!! I tried fitting them. Lockwood. Followed the instructions to the letter. Still not right. The only dial that is spot-on is the speedo, the other three aren't perfect by no means. I am usally very good at this sort of thing, I do all my own work, usally with very little mistake. This is, in my humble opinion, a very tricky job to get right. In fact I'm getting some more clocks and bol*ocks to it. Be careful buddy.

Want some white dials?
