Default Weird starting problems!

Hi all,
Recently been having starting problems with my 1995 uk turbo 2000 it has a sigma cat alarm and a cobra touch key imobiliser. The car always starts first thing in the morning and when it starts it start instantly. However recently about once a day i notice my car doesnt want to start and just cranks and cranks, my remedy for this is to sit in the car for 10 minutes and try again and the car starts first time. I have disconnected the imobilisers and alarm and again it started first time (in the morning) however i got to tescos £30 of 99 ron later went to start it up and nothing crank crank crank, so i sit there for 10 minutes blocking the pump and bang it starts first time again(me think it nothing to do with alarm/imob). I have checked my battery and alternator to be functioning using a multimeter, what else can i check?Been reading something about cam / crank sensors where are these located ?What else could it be as it is really starting to annoy me now as it usually happens when im in a rush?. I have now connected all the security systems back up and checked the fuses on them and all seems fine untill i get the mysterious non starting and i now know that by the third crank if it hasnt started then i just leave it for 10 mins!!!!
Any help will be brilliant
Phil
