Default standard z4 ecu



hey all, i was wondering if there was a difference in spec or not about two z4 standard ecu's i have encountered. one is a d05 model and the other is a d17
model could u please help and tell me if one is better than the other as i'm interested also wots the going rate to buy one cheers......

As far as i know there is no difference as i've only seen i lot of figures for the specs of the ecu.
I paid £75 for mine off here so imo i wouldn't pay more than that although i've seen some on ebay going for over £100.
If you want to improve power you could try www.enduringsolutions.com or a new website www.polarperfromance.co.uk and see if their products interest you more

wot kind of specs can i expect from a standard z4 ecu then cheers...

Boost Targets & Fuel-Cut Limits
WRX/STi Saloon ECU's 2C, U8, W6, W9 - 11.47psi held to redline. Fuel-cut 14.57psi
WRX (1995/96) ECU Z4 - 12.71psi, dropping to 11.78psi @ 6600rpm. Fuel-cut 15.65psi

If you do a search for 'mickywrx' and have a look at his scooby (in the grey box where all little icons are) he is running 330bhp on a standard ecu (not sure if it's a z4 though as he has a 94 wrx) but that would be the extreme limit
