sounds like your over boosting causing fuel cut. do you have any mods on ur turbo, like a boost controller or bleed valve?

Limp Mode? Reset your ECU.

Sound more like fuel cut to me.......limp mode just set you limiter at around 4000rpm iirc. This wouldnt give you the "throught the windscreen" feel that fuel cut would. It is caused by overboost. Could be a number of things. If you have recently added any engine/exhaust mods without a remap this would most likely be the place to look.....otherwise its give the boost solenoid and pipes a clean.

Before you reset the ECU actually read the codes off the check engine light.
Might give you a clue.

To check the codes, connect the two black plugs together under the dash and count the flashes that the check engine light shows.
i.e 4 long flashes, then 2 quick flashes means code 42.
Also note there may be more than one set of codes in the memory so keep counting.
Pain in the *** when there are five stored codes, all gets a bit confusing.

Hitting the windscreen feeling is almost definitely fuel cut due to overboost.
Check the small pipes from the turbo and actuator back to the boost solenoid for splits / cracks etc.
Check the operation of the solenoid by connecting the two greeen plugs under the dash.. you should hear the fans cut in and out and the boost solenoid should be clicking away like mad as well.

Have you run the check engine light code..to see which sensor is throwing up ur check engine light? could be ur maf, but might not be related to you getting thrown through your windowscreen..
Do you have a boost guage? and if so what boost are/were you running at?

Turn OFF the ignition

Connect Error code Connectors and Test Mode Connectors :
2 black connectors under dash, connect black to black and 2 green connectors under dash, connect green to green, they are by your left knee when sat in the drivers seat and often taped back to the loom if they haven't been used before.

Turn ON ignition but don't start the engine

Engine Check lamp comes on

Press accelerator pedal to the floor

Then return it to the half-throttle position and hold it there for two seconds

Release foot off the pedal completely

Start the engine

Check engine light error code is indicated by Pulsing lamp

If an error is detected then Check the ECU Code

If no error is detected - drive the car sensible for a couple of minutes
i.e. until warm (do not use boost or high rpm!)

When the ECU has been reset the Check Engine Light will flash

An Error Code is indicated by a flashing check engine light
of varying length of flash,
a flash of around once a second is the okay code and indicates all is well.

If an error code is detected Check the ECU Code

Turn ignition OFF and Disconnect Connectors

If there is a fault Check the Appropriate Sensor

Error Codes
An Error code is defined as a slow flash followed by fast flash
i.e 2 slow and 3 fast = 23 Mass Airflow sensor.
A continuous on/off at the same speed is no fault found.

Code Fault
11 Crankshaft position sensor

12 Starter switch

13 Camshaft position sensor

21 Engine coolant temperature sensor

22 Knock sensor

23 Mass air flow sensor

24 Idle air control solenoid

31 Throttle position sensor

32 Oxygen sensor

33 Vehicle speed sensor 2

35 Purge control solenoid valve

42 Idle switch

44 Wastegate control solenoid valve

45 Pressure sensor / Pressure exchange solenoid valve

51 Neutral position switch

It can be a bit tricky to find the connecters if they haven't been used before but they are there...

you need to find the green ones to clear the faults. then do the diagnostics reset procedure decribed above. if this doesn't flag anything then do nothing.....

keep driving/using the car until you get the mentioned problem, then connect the black connectors and read the codes.

the codes you have may of been in the ECU since it was last powered/battery last connected, and these can be logged even by disconnecting one of the sensors during servicing or maintenance.

Yep as above, now you have a list of all stored codes you need to reset and see what the CURRENT codes are..
That'll narrow down what you need to look at.
