Default Inlet manifold

Am going to fit an 02 STI inlet manifold into my 02 WRX.

Should i expect any problems when its all bolted back together, with STI manifold having a larger throttle body, would that affect the idle control valve?

All answers appreciated

i didn't think the throttle body was any different , the euro cars had the same manifold just painted

if it was me I would ask David at API for a JDM manifold as these get rid of the TGV's which will improove things a bit , I would also fit insulated manifold spacers which try and stop the heat of the block getting to the manifold

with all this you will see little gains and i ve only started to look at this my self now im going over 400 bhp

Hi,

If you fit the JDM manifold then surely this will cause some problems , any problems to the EM or will you just need to get the ecu checked on the select moitor and then clear it?

Also, will the injectors still be top feed or side feed?

I'm in the process of the similar position and would like to know the difference.

Thanks

Fitting a UK STi manifold will offer absolutely nothing other than a red finish.
The throttle body isn't larger on the STi.

JDM manifolds come in all sorts of varieties but will have the TGV valves removed, some will have the splitter walls inside the TGV bodies removed and some (Spec C blobeye) will be one piece manifolds.
Any manifold without TGVs will cause a CEL and limp mode on newage cars, so a map tweak will be needed.

All the bug & blobeye manifolds take top feed injectors.

My Car is currently in limp mode, I have it booked in for a checking over in a few days time. The car is a UK300 and i have only recently just purchased it with this problem (bought it a little cheaper due to the fault). The car has an onboard ecu reader and it informs we that i have a P1096 error code which i google to be a Tumble generator valve circuit #2 (open circuit). Can anyone assit on what i need to do now without it costing me huge amounts of money. I have seen this tgv delete but i was hoping to just hopefully replace a sensor, im also led to believe that the tgv switch is expensive from subaru, but you can apparantly use the throttle control switch?!?!? Im unsure what to do for the best, but to add aother issue, the car ecu informs me that the car is overheating even though thestandard dial on the dash is only half way on the dial. And today the car has been stood for a while but i decided to move it and it coughed quite a bit of smoke out of the exhaust, does anyone think this could be related to the tgv issues? Thanks eveyone for the time to read and i would apprciate some advice. Regards Rob
