weak bottom ends?

Default weak bottom ends?

hey,can anyone tell me is there any truth in the classic shape (GC8) engines having weak bottom ends and needing new bearings? my engine's just gone v,gutted! and now i'm being told its comon,can anyone help..cheers.

I don’t think the bottom end on the impreza is weak assuming you use it within certain limits and is correctly set up, there are more things to consider about these reported failures than just that.

well mine's more or less standard,engine wise anyway,what it is tryed to sorce a new engine today and the fella at a engine center recons he's put new bearing's in one befor he sell's it just because it's a common problem,but i've not heard of anything..
