My previous messages on an engine rattle have turned into an engine rebuild/replacement, according to a 'dealership.'
I am loathed to let them touch the car, from the experience of the last few days.
Does anyone know of a reliable, reasonable Subaru specialist in the Kent area where I could take the car for a second opinion. I'm in NW Kent and with the potential problem with the car I dont want to drive it too far.

Sorry to hear this fella, i don`t know anyone in Kent, but API in Leamington are very VERY helpful, if you phone them and ask for David, he`ll give you NO bull**** advice 100% genuine, worth a call..

Zen performance in northampton, they have a excellent reputation for rebuilds and the prices are one the cheapest around very highly recommended.....

you have subaru4u in newbury thats a bit closer to you, very nice chap,good prices,and very good at what he dose! just built terry b's engine for his time attack car!
