Default Juddering pulling off

Sorry about the poor technical term btw......My 2000 uk spec turbo is doing this randomly, whether or not the engine is warmed up or cold. The whole car vibrates and i end up getting whiplash. It has just under 29k on the clock, has been very well looked after by its previous 1 owner from new so could it still be loose engine or gearbox mounts? Any other suggestions please? TIA

Normally if i get a juddering it's the clutch being cold (93 wrx) but it doesn't last long but if the whole car shudders take it to a garage and ask them to check the mounts

It's a common problem on classic shape impreza's. Common consensus is that a couple of hard launches sorts the problem, but it will come back over time.

For a complete cure, Subaru have been known to replace clutches under warranty - but try the first suggestion first.

Mine does it if I've been doing a lot of gentle driving over a period of time, i.e. no hard gearchanges, and I've just accepted it.

I never really drive the car hard,so maybe it is that,
I`ll be gutted if it does need a new clutch though.....Will car still be under warranty? Will get the mounts checked out first of all i guess then before flapping it about a new clutch! Thanks guys

Mine nearly always judders first thing but disappears once its hot.

With your mileage I doubt its the clutch on its way out - mines on 72K on its originally clutch and its been mapped.

Just got back from the mad mechanic`s.....We went for a drive, although i did tell him it`s only when i pull off the juddering occurs,he said that because he didn`t witness it,there`s nothing he can do.....He didn`t check anything anywhere(was more concerned about how much my hair had grown ) Said it may be a problem with the engine and if i left my car with him he would try it in the morning!!!Different garage?!

Different garage imo.
If there is a problem with the engine i think you would notice it more often then just pulling away.

I would say its something broken in the final drive system. Something as simple as a broken clutch spring would cause this. Clutch and plate may be fine unfortunatly but may need changing.

So it doesn't always do it? If it didn't do it with him driving one would assume its intermittant.

If it goes when its warm or its only when pulling off I doubt its much more than crap on the plate.

Just dump the clutch one time once its warm and next morning see if its changed. If no change maybe it is something else if its better or less judder thats probably what it is.

Like I say, mines a PITA in the mornings, especially when I use it during the winter. Judders like mad. To an extent they will all do it.

I was told by a very reputable Subaru mechanic that this could be due to the flywheel. (i had the same problem)

Stop pulling yourself off when driving and the juddering may stop

There will deffo be a problem somewhere. Power transfer should never be 'juddery', harsh maybe with an uprated clutch. Don't just live with it. I'm sure Subaru didn't make their cars with fooked clutches! Find another garage that is prepared to have a proper look. Don't listen to the mechanic's "oh, its a subaru <head scratch>" story. A subaru is just another car.
