Can anyone tell me how difficult it is to replace a cam belt on a WRX. I need to get the oil pump off to see why it spilt its gutts everywhere, but will need to replace the belt when I put it back together. Any help appreciated!! I have replaced cam belts on various other cars, but this will be new for me.

never done a cambelt before until recently on a '94 wrx - I used the saxonfields instructions (there will be a link on scoobynet somewhere)

I was shocked how easy it was (engine was out of the car though)

get some instructions, a belt with lines on and you'll **** it!

Got the already from Graham Goode. it's got the marks on it - bonus!!!

 

Did mine a few weeks back...

I replaced the tensioner £100 :S as a mater of precaution....

I also did the front crankshaft oil seal, to lock the 2 cam wheel (drivers side) with vise grips. I used a power bar to undo the bolt holding the crank wheel on (had mrs sat in car foot on break and in 5th gear)., think thats it!!
