Default De-Cat down pipe

I've just bought a second hand de-cat down pipe but before I go ahead and fit it, do I have to re map the ecu once the new pipe has been fitted or can I run the car with the new pipe on my standard ecu? I understand that I wont get the full benefit unless I do re map but cant aford it at the mo.
cheers!

yes you can run the car after without a remap. turbo will spool faster and you will notice more noises too. may get boost spikes and some people say the car might run lean but i havent had the slightest problems from mine.

Excellent thanks 4 the advice, anyone else have any opinion? Will it do any damage to the engine if I run it as it is?

It'll probably be fine, but obviously much better off getting it remapped and not only for safety's sake.

Mine was running 230bhp before remap, 273bhp after - mahoosive difference, new car after

But it does cost about £600 depending on where you go.
