Question 05 Shocks and Springs to a 01

Hi There!

Can anybody confirm that the shocks and springs off a 2005 WRX are a direct fit onto a 2001 WRX?

I realise the said struts are inverted and better than previous model years, but I just wanted to confirm I'd need nothing additional to swap them over?

You comments are appreciated

I thought the top mounts changes when the cars went from bug to blob shaped, but don't quote me. Something to do with the tapering of the springs

I'm think the diameter of the top of the rear strut is larger on a blobeye. This can be overcome if you have all the rear spring cups and topmounts from the later car.

IIRC even though the struts are inverted the top fitting is still the same diameter.

Charlie, give 'fuzz' a PM (aka Andy @ powerstation), I'm sure he'll be able to confirm..

Struts - same
Springs - different..
Top mounts- different.

If you take struts, springs and top mounts off the 2005 it will go straight on the 2001 car.
Individual parts wont swap without the others.
