Question

Can anyone recommend a good place to get my WRX Jap import serviced or repaired around Durham/Cleveland area? It's comming up for the 45K service which needs cam-belts.

Cool

Can't recommend as I've never used them, but what about SMC in Peterlee (formerly Swift motors)?? They import and do full servicing.

Ian,

I use R&P Woods up in Heaton, Newcastle (0191 281 0748) for all my servicing on my 95 WRX and my other cars. I've used them for years and the service is both friendly and a very reasonable price.

I usually take my car in first thing and then get the bus from outside the garage into Newcastle and spend the day in town shopping & stuff and then they'll ring me and let me know when Scoobys ready.

I rang S.G Petch before for some Brake Piston Seals and they asked me for what type of car it was, I said 95 Impreza Turbo and they wanted the Chassis number. They said to make sure we get the right parts, they were checking for imports as usual, I told them the car wasn't with me at that time. I went down in my other car and ot them but I think it was a case of the Usual Subaru Uk import unfriendliness.

Cheers & Happy Chrimbo

O.M.

Ian,

I have used Peter Chapman motors at Pickering for my Dutch MY '00 import (all three services). Pretty good service - no big deal about the car being an import. Might be worth giving them a call (good stretch of road there and back as well) :-)

I have also used R & P Woods in Newcastle for the past 4 years, for several types of high performance cars (UK Impreza, WRX RA, Celica GT4 etc). I can recommend them as the best garage I've ever taken a car to.

Thanks Andrew, it sounds like this is a decent place to go.

By the way, are you the Andrew that works at Carliol in the NT Team?
