Default which turbo for definite 400 bhp????

right im struggling with this one abit i have two real options due to price, these are;
1. the forced performance green (td06 turbine 49lb compressor)
2. the forced performance td06 20g

ive tried the td05 20g and it didnt make the figure.

my spec is;
96 wrx ej 20 engine
rebored to fit cosworth forged pistons
ported heads
fully rebuilt engine
td05 20g turbo
apexi power fc mapped by pat h
740cc injectors
stainless headers and up pipe
3" down pipe decat
magnex system decat
turbo smart e boost controller
front mount intercooler
22b maf 90mm
k&n with stainless inlet to turbo 60mm
adjustable fuel reg if needed
ngk07 plugs
walbro pump
exedy organic clutch
lightened balanced fly wheel
knock link

any help from the pro's would be a massive help,

How far short of the magical 400bhp were you?

Why not sort out the pressure drop issues and see where you are then, I also notice you have a 2.5" exhaust which will be building backpressure at these power levels.

The 2 turbos you mention will result in a fairly narrow power band on your engine.

hi andrew i want to get them done at the same time so i dont have to get it mapped twice.
as regard to the exhaust ive being informed this wont be a particular issue.
i dont mind a 4000 rpm full boost as where i live its all flat and straight.

my main interest is which turbo would be better

May be showing how much of a non-expert (lol) I am here, but wouldn't a MD321H be good for this pupose? Perhaps finance precludes this though.

As above, is the exhaust a restriction at this power level?

td06 20g will be about right, the 49 WILL be too laggy. But i would buy neither and get to the bottom of the problem.

what boost?

What fuel?

What afr?

What rolling road?

What rolling road cooling?

What boost control.
