MY99 Starter Motor Terrible Noise

Twice over the last 2 weeks when trying to start there is a gear crashing type noise from the starter motor. When I try again there isnt a problem. As this in infrequent is it anything to worry about?

lt can only get worse l would fit another starter before it packs in totally. or does some damage
