Smile 1997 2.0 sport, turbo convertion maybe?

I own a 1997 2.0 sport impreza and its been kept standard and clean since i owned it as i was abit of a purist but now i want to boost power in a big way without changing the engine since i've looked after it, So im wondering if theres a turbo kit you can get for these models so i can bolt a turbo in without blowing up my entire engine? I know theres exhausts and cams and induction kits for it but well.. a turbo is a turbo and I want one on my lump so if anyone knows a company or knows anyone who owns a 2.0 sport with a turbo that didnt start life as a turbo model can you let me know? thanks everyone!

Cheaper and easier to sell you car and buy a turbo'd on IIRC.

Hell of a lot of thing need changed otherwise.

You can't really turbo your car and get any great power as the compression ratio of the engine is wrong to run a turbo.

As mickywrx says, sell it and buy a turbo.

Having had a Sport in the past I would entirely agree with above posts. Sports seem to be holding value as well (or not so well, depending how you look at it) as similar year Turbos. Far too much needs changing to get performance and handling up to turbo spec. Take the plunge and get a turbo car - you wont regret it and it would be more cost effective than trying to mod a Sport.
