Default Would a version 3 intercooler fit my version 1

I see that the dumpvalve take off is at the opposite side to mine, does this then loop back round on a standard V3 car and connect backinto the intake?

Yes..

the other problem areas are space between throttle body and bulk head.. you might have to trim the throttle body and or the intercooler.. and obviously making up brackets to fit it.. or get the v3 ones.
Also you might find the dumpvalve take off clashes with the idle valve..
