FUMING!!!!

Looked forward for ages to having my FMI fitted. Mrs took it to the garage - had the FMI alongwith a new Turbo (VF28) and a bailey dump valve (as my existing one was a bolt on).

Mrs collected from garage today - parting with my hard earnt cash - she's been driving about in it with the kids - so obviously hasn't given it loads!

Eventually got to drive my baby - and now I want to cry - and kill!!!!

NO BOOST!!!!!!!!

Revs fine, as soon as you select gear and pull away hard, gets to 3k and constantly pulls back.

I've waited for the last few weeks to get this work done - due to go on the ESC meet to Southend tomorrow - and I'm furious! Not even sure if the garage is gonna be open tomorrow???

can anyone help me??

 

you got nothing at all ? not a psi ? check boost hoses . maybe in limp home mode , with a fmic you need a remap anyway .wasnt you told this ?what my is your car ? i will not be looking back at this thread so pm me if you need any help

you connected up the solenoid pipes correctly... all pipes secure, any codes

 

Didn't do it myself to know - however, I have looked at the engine and checked to make sure and all does seem secure! Just feels like its choking! Wont go over 3k without chugging and popping!!!

 

does the exhaust still sound the same m8, as my brothers was running **** the other day and found out the baffles were blocking the inside of the exhaust like big bits of wire wool in it. used a stick to pull it out, sounded like a corsa not a scooby and drove like one too as if it had no boost

 

chugs and pops, any black smoke?

sounds like its in limp home mode, check the FMIC pipework for a leak

not sure if this is related to your problem,

I have just bought import wrx 1997, it was fine for around 2 weeks and used to boost well, its totally standard except boost gauge which used to fly to over 1.0 (I assume that means psi)

now, it the turbo seems to give up at 4k rpm and only gets to about 0.5 on the boost gauge,

any ideas of what I have done to it

its an intermitent problem, sometimes fine and flys, other times only lets me use half the turbo range,

 

will be 1.0 bar mate not psi

 

i had a wrx on a 99 plate that wouldnt boost and took of boost solonoid and pipes cleaned it with brake cleaner and worked fine.... try that
