Default NITROUS INSTALL

Anyone running nos on a newage on here?

Ran a ZEX nos kit on my old car which was n/a so not sure about running nos on a turbo.

What max jet size is recommended? Which kit is best for a wrx? I ran a rising rate Sard FPR with my old set-up, would the subaru standard FPR be up to the job?

Cheers

Nitrous and turbos work well together, because of the cooling effect from the nitrous the bhp figures quoted for jets can almost double i.e. 25 bhp jets can produce 40 bhp, best to start small with 25 bhp then move up to 50bhp jets, consider fitting a controller, your FPR will be fine.

l would only use a Wizard of nos kit check out the link, a controller allows the nitrous to be fed in to the engine in a controlled manner this allows more nitrous to be injected safely helping to reduce stress and traction problems 75bhp jets would be enough for me.

Nitrous = waste of money.
To start with, it doesnt last long, your still going to have restrictions with the power output due to your turbo, your still going to have restrictions on your internals, basically for the overall cost over say 1 year, you would be better off buying different performance parts and doing it right in the first place
Though as stated, NOS does improve performance due to the oxygen content, you are better off getting a remap etc and having that power there permenently.

To keep costs down you can buy a large bottle from Linde gas and do your own fills should cost under £3 per LB The advantages l see with N2O are that you can upgrade cheaply jets are about a tenner each and can be changed in minutes, the kit can be removed and fitted in to another car, lnsurance isnt a problem if you shop around

I only pay £2.50 a Lb now
Wizards only use Plastic pipes, If your fitting a Nos system you must have braided hoses.
The progressive controllers do save drivetrain wear due to not being a BIG Hit!,
Ive been using it for years on a N/A car and love it,
I have a spare Nitros Express system I wouldnt mind putting on the scoobie if its ok with turbo engines.

The main problem with all american kits including NX is the solenoid seals these are made from a type of rubber that can rip if pulsed using a controller dirt from the nitrous bottle can also cause damage, it is recomended that solenoid seals are replaced regularly rebuild kits are available, you dont have these problems with noswizard kits as the seals are made from a type of nylon. The braided hose has a large bore compared to nylon pipe this means the system is less efficient and wastes nitrous a purge valve would also be required. on the plus side in my opinion NX are one of the better companies lve used products from NX NOS and Dynotune NX where the best quality Dyno tune the poorest. For occasional use your NX kit will be fine if used without a controller, if you want to use nitrous regularly then l would consider selling the kit and use the money to buy a british kit even second hand NX kits make good money.
