Default prodrive ecu

hi got the chance of a prodrive ecu from an sti 8,my cars an 02 sti,would it just be a case of fitting this and decat,fuel pump,and getting my key reprogramed or does it still have to be remapped etc,any info would be great

Well to start with I think the ecu from the 03 car is different to that of the 02 car (its not an STi v8 unless your japanese and they even stopped using the numbering after 6).
Also note that decatting a new age STI without a remap is asking for serious trouble, mainly engine trouble after you have killed it with the det that normally happens with the boost spikes
Easiest thing to do is get the car remapped at the same time as you have your decat fitted.

i was using a prodrive ecu made for a bug eye on my 2004 sti. I had this on my car for 45.000 km using a 76mm turbo back exhaust with sports cat (graham goode racing). I never had problems with det (i had a knock link fitted) or overboost with no other modifications done to the boost control system other than the prodrive ECU. i guess i was lucky this ecu felt like it was made for my car.
