Question de-cat or not de-cat

thinking of putting a de-cat system on my sti8 (prodrive) but wondered if it would mess with the set up and would it need re-mapping after this procedure. was also thinking of doing the manifold headers aswell . was wanting a bit more bhp without going to mad.

Fully decatting an 8 will set a check engine light, you can get away with swapping out the underfloor as long as you have a boss for the downstream sensor.

Fully decatting an STi (newage) will normally do more than just bring on the check engine light, more like det the engine to bits.
IF you decide to decat the car, then it WILL need a remap as soon as possible, otherwise you could end up with no engine.
