Default my06 wrx power upgrade question

Hi all

Basically ive got £1400 to spend

At the moment ive got a ninja backbox and a de-cat centre section

so a re-map is £650 = 275bhp

or

Full miltek 3" front to back £1400 = 290bhp

So is it really worth £750 more for 15bhp

would a decat then a map be just as good? ? ?

as ive also been looking at the suspension upgrade from powerstion £750

So i could have suspension and more bhp for £1400

instead of just the upgrade

Help me out guys

Cheers

tom

Ok, here are is my tuppence worth :

Ninja front pipe from Scoobyworld - £300

Remap - £600 is what I paid

Not sure if your car is a 2. or a 2.5 ? On a 2.0 you'll get about 280 bhp on those mods.

-Then you have spare cash for :

Whiteline anti-roll bar and steel droplinks to cut down the understeer £140

Prodrive Springs and Prodrive geometry settings, done by your local dealer - £450

Pagid or Ferodo front pads £145 from AS Performance.

OR you might want to get the PPP package from your dealer and adds the springs at the same time - not as good value for money on purchase, but should be better for resale value when you come to sell the car.

cheers for your views andy

Think im gunna stick with the 3 " de-cat miltek system from powerstation
£1150 figures around 290bhp....

Should i be able to tell a vast improvment from this upgrade

Cheers

I think 3" is overkill for that power level. It will just be noisier and not make any difference over 2.5" (as far as I know).

I'd go for decat up-pipe, sports cat down pipe and replace the centre section if you still have the standard one so that you are running with one cat and 2.5" all the way.

Further, you could go for a panel filter of some sort (e.g. a K&N one etc). That and a remap should set you back about a grand, and then spend the rest on suspension

All IMO, and I'm just an armchair tuner
