Default header tank overflowing...help!!!

after a drive in my 95 wagon, when stopping on the spot, it gets a little steam coming out of right hand side of bonnet. when i have a look its overflowed a little water onto engine and created steam.
so today i started the car and left it running for about 15 minutes and when i looked at the headertank, it was slowly dribbling water down the side of it but very slowly.
any one know what this is??
cheers

mine had a similar problem when I bought it. They are two halfs with a gasket in the middle. Mine was leaking through the gasket. Bought a new one and changed it. No probs since.

First time it happened was on the M6 at a service station thought it was going up in flames, loads of smoke. Turned out to be steam....Thank ****...

Not a very good explanation.....

The tanks are made in two parts top and bottom with a gasket seperating them.

Some after market ones are one piece chrome/ polished alloy and look nice about £140 maybe cheaper if you look arround.
