BHP limit on V3 airbox

The surface area of the panel filter is a bit less when compared with a cone filter but assuming it was fed with sufficient cold air at what point does it become a restriction?

I think the general consensus is that the stock airboxes are good for about 350bhp, after that something needs to give, you can improve the stock intake by deleting the silencer assembly in the inner wheel arch (not sure if its different on an STi) and either making a CAI or routing back through the wing to the front of the car, some companies (GGR I think) sell a silencer replacement straight pipe, but would think that could be made up by hacking the silencer to be honest!
