Default Oil Blasting out of breather pipe

I might finally be getting to the bottom of my engine issue - After following advice from Jolly Green Monster I have disconnected my breather pipes and blocked up the holes, and found that more than oil vapour is coming out of one of them!
I took the car out for a blast and it was driving without fault, no stuttering, nothing - thought I'd finally cracked it! Parked the car up and noticed smoke coming from pretty much everywhere. Looked underneath and there was oil dropping down onto the exhaust. I cracked the bonnet open and found that where I had directed this breather pipe there was TONNES of oil spat everywhere! This was def what was causing my car to run like a pile of cr@p, but the question still remains why the hell is there so much oil comming out of this breather pipe?? What can I do to stop it??

This is the pipe causing the issue

any ideas what could be causing it?? Oil too thin maybe??

Cheers in advance guys

Mark

Worn PCV Valve (possibly) but more than likely to be Piston Rings.

I dont know what you have done or how far you have got with trouble shooting but a pressurised crank case is usually caused by blow by.

As above, if it is venting heavily then you may have piston problems (blow by) also will take forever to take your turbo, intercooler pipes and intercooler off to clean them through properly, if you leave the oil in them will be going into your engine for a while to come, which is not good as the high volume of oil vapour will cause det, and we all know what happens next.

Oh cr@p... What's Blow by?? Please don't say the piston rings are screwed or something else expensive!! Any other idea's or is it most likely "blow by" ??

Whats the PCV valve??

Knackered PCV valve could do it apart from the fact that a malfunctioning PCV valve would be feeding boost pressure INTO the crankcase at the point you have said oil is coming OUT.

Blow by is much more likely.

eek..

what is the oil level? if there is too mcuh oil in the engine it will comes out the breathers.. otherwise as said you have a piston issue..mostlikely

Oil only seems to be coming out on high boost - on normal tick over and whilst revving the engine only a little bit of vapour comes out - So could it be this PCV valve?? Would it be worth checking/replacing this first??
What is it and where is it?? Complete newbie here I'm afraid dudes!!

It will only come out the breather when on boost/high rpm not on idle if its blow by which it does sound like, have a compression test done to rule this out first.

Oil levels are normal - checked that as was hoping for an easy fix!

Remind me never to buy off Ebay again!!

As said, get the cylinder compressions checked. Quite simple to do (although a bit fiddly due to limited access to plug holes).

At least this will confirm/rule out oil blowing past piston rings.

Fingers crossed for you..

It was set to 1.2 bar, but not reaching above .9 bar as engine cough's and spluts due to the amount of oil being spat into the intake. Its being compression tested today and we'll find the outcome!

well compression is down to 80 psi on both cylinder's on the left bank, so either head gasket or piston rings.....Either way not good, so the engine is now out and time to see what the problem is!!

sorry to hear it mate..

hopefully it's just a head gasket, but as to oil was coming through the crank breather... don't need to say anymore really..!

iirc, you've not long had the car or the engine done..?
