Hi, I have a 1995 WRX SA Wagon (Auto) but had in the past a WRX 1995 MK2 Impreza which went like a stink. The SA Wagon has always disappointed me boost comes on at 2.5k rpm and runs out of puff at about 4.5k (Feels flat)
I bought off e-bay a TD05 to replace the TD04 that is fitted to the Wagon thinking it was the turbo that is naff. I then was advised to change the V5 for a Z4 to support the TD05 so again e-bay here we come.
I got a Z4 for fifty pounds. Last weekend I just tried the Z4 in to see if it would work before changing the turbo over (Bit of a mission) boy o boy what a difference!!!!!!
Boost now comes in at 3.5k and holds until 6.5k and it now goes like a rocket!
I am not sure if I am now going to change the TD04 in fear of damaging the Auto box with too much power! Get a Z4 you will be amassed!
