same here, thrust/relaese bearing - the bearings arent too expensive, the main expense is labour as obviously gearbox has to be dropped in order to gain access.

Is this just a creaking noise when you move the pedal or a continuous noise when the pedal is held down. If it is the former then try squeezing a bit of grease around the end of the slave cylinder rod where it contacts the operating arm above the gearbox. I have an occasional creak and this usually cures it for 6 months.

Does it make the same noise with the engine off. If this is the case its definitely just the end of the slave cylinder rod. Let the engine cool down before you get your arm in there as you'll get burnt. Just put some grease on the end of your finger and work it in all round the end of the rod where it meets the arm then work the pedal a few times. Quite hard to get the greaser in the right place so you may have to persevere a bit. Should only cost you the price of a glob of grease.

price will depend on where you take it and the quality of the parts. I do my work as I am a technician, it takes me about 2.5 hrs to change a clutch but expect others to quote longer times. Just make sure it goes to someone you trust. Pay extra and get a good quality clutch, it will be worth it later!
