Default Is the ej20 a non interference engine?

Just wondering thats all.

Does it bend the valves and knacker everything or is it just a power loss and replacement belt if the belt snaps?

Interesting, I've believe from changing a few belts that they do definatly make contact. But ive read an autodata timing book thak quotes them as non-interference

I read the same too & have been told that they are non interference, But then to every one that states that 100 say not !!
So in the name of science & confirmation who is willing to semi snip there timing belt & then go for a good Ole Blast, You will be going where many fear to tread But your reard will be fruitfill , Safe in the Knowledge that !!!?????

You have a few teeth to play with on the belt.. but nothing major..

Belts don't often snap.. usual damage is from a frontal crash and the cam covers are damaged.. which causes valve damage, or a failed tensioner..
