Hi guys,, I signed up today in the hope that one of you may be able to shed some light on this subject...

Had my 95impreza inport for just over a year now!! Got a K&N, Baily dump Valve and I had the exhaust done!! All singing and all dancing until last week. Friday on the way home from work I noticed a massive lack in power.

The dump valve has stopped all together and the K&N witch used to suck louder than the exhaust is also dead... I am also getting nothing from the turbo....

The real odd thing is that there is no other symtoms.... Car starts fine, turns over fine... No smoke or noises... Nothing.... Its like someone has switched it to half power????


Any ideas?

 

Does it still accelerate through the revs ok (even tho down on power). Just wondering if the ecu has put itself into limp home mode which restricts boost and has a low rev limit. If you have a boost gauge does it only boost to around 0.5bar now ?

Could also be boost control solenoid needs cleaning or a wastegate stuck problem.

 

No boost guage but ECU was my first thought!! If i really push it i can get a small squeek from the dump valve.. I can also get it through the revs fine all be it alot slower than before!

 

I got it booked into the subaru garage tomorrow at 9am,, but the last time i did that the only thing they did not want to replace was me!!! They do go a bit over the top... But I do need to find this problem and get it fixed ASAP!

Anyone else have any ideas??

 

Problem solved....... Waste Gate Actuator had come off!

 

haha, tought it could be that, was going to sugest that yesterday but somehow didn't.. happened to me once, circlip fell of and the arm disconnected itself from the wastegate
