I dont know if any1 can help , but her goes,
ive go a my99 turbo,dumb valve ,straight through exhaust , just lately it doesnt seem 2 be driving as it normaly does,
start the car fine ,
my exhaust seems 2 be alot louder than it usually is yet on occasions it sounds fine,
slight high pitched whistle when on boost that lasts 1/2 a second or so,

does any1 know anywhere in the midlands where i can get it checked out properly, dont wanna take it to suabaru because they where right to**ers when i had my last service and fished for work off me....

I would recommend API at Harbury (Leamington) as a port of call....

It sounds like it could be a turbo/wastegate issue, in the past I had an actuator go soft, sometimes it would just stick with the wastegate open, so lots of noise and no boost, other times it worked OK, you could check that with a boost guage.
