Default Oil Reading - Sndwhich plate or engine block?

Which is the best place to take the reading for oil temp and pressure?

Using a sandwhich plate on the oil filter or using the engine block?

Thanks
S!

IMO the oil temp would be best coming off the back of one of the cylinders (can't remember the exact bit). You buy an adaptor plug that you fit the sender in to and the goes in to a blanked off plug on the cylinder. Someone that actually knows what they are talking about will be along shortly no doubt. You can fit the press sender near the top front of the engine too, ideally with an adapter cable. I went the sandwich plate method through lack of knowledge/choice originally and they are p!ss poor in comparison to doing it properly.
