Default Sti wheels on a classic - What size tyres?

Hi I have a JDM 1995 classic WRX, I think it has standard suspension and I have just got some sti wheels from a 2002 bug eye. The wheels have 225 45 17 tyres on them and they seem to fit on with no issues. The rear tyres are very close to the suspension strut (I think its only about 1mm gap) but they do not seem to rub at all.

Does anyone else have these wheels on a classic with standard suspension and if so what make and size tyres do you have on them?

Thanks in advance.

Nick
