Question MAF gone?

Hello all.

Your diagnostic skills are required.

On a long stretch of ... er ... track on a slight incline, around 4000 revs approaching 100mph, the car seems to hesitate a little/doesn't continue to accelerate smoothly.

It's the only symptom I've noticed.

Could it be the MAF, any other suggestions?

Where might I source a MAF from.

Oh. BTW Jan 2000 V reg'd UK Turbo 2000 Wagon.

Many thanks.

Sparkplugs may require replacing or regapping to 0.7mm. Maybe worth while checking your HT leads also.

You could try re-setting the ECU, use the connectors under the dash, or leave the battery off for a few hours.
This will put the ECU back to factory de-fault settings, drive carefully to warm the engine up, if the car tries to stall, or idle is not stable, the MAF will be knackered, it was common on the MY99 MY00.
It can also give similar symptoms that you describe, don't go booting it about until you sort it, as you could be looking at a new engine, not a £70.00 MAF, from the stealers.

Exactly the same thing is happening to mine, been going on for 3 months and not even Subaru know the solution.

I've bought a brand new MAF sensor (£311), cleaned the boost solenoid, and reset the ECU with no joy!

Let me know if you find the fault please!
