The aircon pump and alternator use seperate belts to drive them, but they both run off a common crank pulley. I presume this is what you mean, rather than cam pulley.
If the inside off the pulley is worn, you will need a new one anyway, as it may not sit square anymore, which will make it run out of true, and throw the belts off, cause vibration etc.

the crank pulley bolts to the end of the crank.. and there is a woodruff (sp?) in the end of the crank.. the crank sprocket that the cambelt runs on slots onto it and then the crank pulley and then it is held on with a large bolt.

If the crank pulley has been chewed and the woodruff key damaged then at best you are going to need a woodruff key, a crank pulley and have to remove the cambelt covers, the cambelt, the crank sprocket, replace the woodruff key and refit etc.. worth changing the cambelt whilst there..
Unfortunatly not a five minute job..

Worse case is the crank has been damaged.. but we will ignore that one.. eek..

It looks like the Woodruff key has been eaten away I've put in a couple of pics.... I'm hoping no PRAYING that all i need is the Pulley and woodruff key.

Will i need to take the Cog off to replace the Woodruff key so I'm guessing its a cam belt off job then? or is there a way round this........ Money is a bit short at the mo maybe in about 6 weeks I would be fine but not now!!!!!!!!

Hi ,

This is quite a common thing on scoobie's and nothing the worry to much about if you catch it in time. This happened to a guy on here yesterday.

All you will need is a new pulley and key . I can supply both for £65 delivered.

Cheers chris

would that be the nice light alloy type?

How much for the woodruff key on its own?
