Default clutch losing fluid

help, my clutch is losing fluid, my friend says theres a hole in the pipe from the cylinder down, could this be the case?

Usually a loss of clutch fluid is down to damaged seals in either the master cylinder or the slave cylinder rather than damaged piping. If you cannot see any fluid leaks then I'd probably err towards the slave cylinder on the clutch bell housing. It may be that the fluid is leaking into the bell housing.

Check carefully for leaks, concentrating on the slave and master cylinders. As Kevin has already said, these are the primary areas for fluid loss.
