Hi all, been looking round here for a while and looks like a great community! Anyhow just got myself a 1995 Type RA and was looking through the History and found that it had a rebuild in 2001 (new short engine).
However... looking through a set of notes from Powerstation they have said that when it was rebuilt whoever rebuilt it used Legacy heads, now what problems could this cause in the long run.. it has done approx 42,000 miles since and seems to run fine (plenty of power) except for a slightly rough idle when started from cold, runs perfectly after 30 sec.
I had an RX7 before and seems to be at least equivelant to that so not too worried would just like to know.
Thanks in advance guys,
Paul

right, just spoke to API and to say I'm gutted is an understatement... The heads are not compatable... The WRX type RA STI is designed to rev to 7k and the legacy only 6k... if you go over that there is the risk of blowing up the engine... don't know what to do now... someone help... please!

hope so.. gonna talk to the guys who did the rebuild in 2001... they're called David Hendry Cars and they don't look like the sort of people who would bodge the job!
Thanks for the support though... make me feel better
