hi, i just found a puddle in the passenger side foot well - i searched a load of posts and found people saying it could be caused by a new windscreen being fitted incorrectly. i have had a new windscreen but when i turn on the fan the drip increases (i don't have air con) could the water be coming from the heater matrix or is the drip coming through a windscreen leak and dripping down to that point purely because this is the lowest point (i.e water finds its lowest level).
cheers

Hi mate welcome to scooby net.
I had the same problem and it turned out to be a clip under the black plastic trim that runs along the bottom of the windscreen.Take the wipers off and trim and reseal the clip it sit right above the air inlet to the fan motor on the passenger side and drips in and straight out into the footwell.
Hope this helps oh and my car was a classic?
cheers

cheers mate i'll check that tomorrow
it is a classic - when the guy changed the wind screen he said he'd been doing it for 10 years and he looked to do a good job so that piece of trim, that gets removed when the windscreen is replace could be the prob,
thanks
dave

i checked the windscreen and all looks well- also checked all the clips on the cover at the bottom of the screen, they also look fine... so when i turn the fan on the dripping starts again and the coolant level is fine in the resivoir but in the actual pipe (by the fuse box) the level is way down. does this mean i have a coolant leak in the heater matrix....argg, heard that this is a full dash removal = lots of time and cash?

It isn't that much of a problem removing the dash and replace the heater matrix, and it should be easy putting it together again, mine's out at the moment , putting a 2007 WRX electric loom in. lots of soldering and stuff ;]
