I am planning to book my spec c in for an Ecutek remap to get the car around 350bhp. But after speaking to few tuners, it seems some tuner say uprate fuel pump are needed and some say it doesnt.

Any suggestion?

Current spec:

HKS fast flow cat downpipe
Trust Titanium exhaust cat back
Sti uprated air filter.

Is there anything I should get together with the remap to get the best out of the car?

 

To be safe you should change the pump. Don't change the dump valve.

Go with a Walbro item mate. They can be had for £75 on flea bay.

 

I thought the Spec C pump was already uprated in comparision to the standard Sti pump?

I've also been told that T25's run this pump too.

AFAIK Spec C's still use the same fuel pump. It is the fuel assembly that is uprated on them. They have an anti-surge assembly inside the tank.

 

ANy chance these are the GSS342 pump from Walbro you talking about.

I *was* running the standard Spec C fuel pump with 450/450 with NO issues what so ever, although I was at standard fuel pressure. The Type25's also run the standard Spec C pump, again with no issues.
