VF42 as an upgrade for 2006 spec c
1.what the max hp and tq of this turbo?
2.how does it compare in low end and mid range power against the vf36/37?
3.where can i buy one?
4.could turbodynamics modify it to perform better than their hybrid vf37 used in the stage 2 project spec c? if yes what would be the max hp and torque?and would it better low and mid power than hybrid vf37
I want to buy 2006 spec c and modify it (with the vf42) to put out approx.360whp and 360wtq. I have been looking at the blitz turbo options kkk. k08.Their is an article on turbomagazine which states that it puts out 358.3whp@6190rpm and 330.5wlbft@5150rpm, however the hybrid vf37 used in project spec c seems more responsive to me (also its cheaper). Hence i need your advise as to how to get to my goal and other possible turbo solutions.

The VF42 uses a modified compressor wheel and housing allowing better mid-range and extended top end power without sacrificing low down response. The hybrid VF that Shaun first used in his Spec C had this same modification, nothing else. So in effect, they could potentially be very similar in response and power capability.
The uprated twin scroll that Gussy mentions uses a modified Garret core along with a different compressor wheel and can be considered a more highly modified turbo, and as such more expensive.
You could either trade your turbo in to Turbo Dynamics for their modified VF as Shaun first used, buy a new VF42 or go one step further and use the hybrid VF/MD turbo.

sunnyrex,
You can chase figures as much as you want but on the road or track is where it matters in the real world, Im getting with supporting mods full spool at 3600 ish at 1.6 bar that carries on through to 5400 and drops to 1.4 bar right through to the redline at 8000 revs gave me 415bhp/398LLbs it makes it a very cabable car mid range you can hold it in the same gear without having to change up to come back down straight away if you know what I mean, it suits my needs at the moment just got to master the dccd (I can feel a track one to one intense driving course coming).

From: 1600cc's of twin scroll fun :)
Sorry to say that you wont push 360whp (we go by fly bhp really rather than wheel bhp) with a VF42, its better but not by that much.
You would need a nice 430/440bhp@fly to produce 360bhp@wheels, but until you have bought the spec c, dont think about modifying it until you get use to the car, a VF36 may suit your needs depending on what you want to do, its not all about out and out power, its about drivability and handling
