G-tech is quite accurate

IIRC Autocar recorded a time below 6 seconds, however it can depend on the amount of fuel/passengers on the car.

Also from reading Evo magazine the gearchanges that motoring jornalist use when trying to extract the best from a car are very brutal and not something you would want to replicate on a daily basis.

There are very different ways of launching a 4WD from sidestapping the clutch at max revs through to riding the clutch or holding the car back on the handbreak.....it all depends on how long you want your clutch/gearbox to last and how deep your pockets are.

I don't like to launch my car often so I resort ot letting the clutch out fully and then flooring it, but after a clutch change that is only because I get visions of my bank manager rubbing his hands.

To look into this in more detail have a look in the driving dynamics section.

I had various times using my G-tech all around the 6.5 secs and one just over 7 secs when launching my Standard MY00 UK turbo. However, after being less of a girl with the car and launching from just over 4000 rpm I managed to get it to hit 0-60 in 5.8 secs, 100mph in just a shade over 15 secs on that run. Didn't fancy dropping the clutch over 4500 rpm, didnt fancy the repair bill!

Best to use g-tech on a flat piece of road and run in both directions, then take average.

Just after modding my WRX I tried a launch from 5000 revs.

It felt fooking quick, smelt like burnt black pudding and I've never done it since !!

Just do rolling starts, then floor it, now.
