if its a non turbo mate your gonna need £4k minimum.
im 75% of the way through doin mine at the mo. mines a 2001 GX though.
Here is a list of what you will need. Not an easy conversion.
full Engine + ECU
turbo + intercooler
FULL exhaust from turbo back
Front subframe off turbo
Gearbox and rear diff (may get away with old one, still need to test mine)
Bigger brakes + better suspension
FULL car loom as ECU wont plug into 2000 wiring loom
New Dial's as they fit old loom
Boost solenoid's
WRX fuel tank and fuel pump
Plus other bits and bobs
Engineers report is vital too if you want to insure it afterwards. If police check engine serial and its not registered as that you will have question's to answer!
The other option mate is buy my 2000 non turbo engine, its done 46,000 miles with full history. Drop me a PM if interested.
