Default Mechanical boost gauge help

Want to get a boost gauge and was looking at a racetech mechanical gauge from Demon Tweeks.

Turbo Boost Gauge | Gauges | Demon Tweeks Motorsport, Motorcycle, Modifying, Parts and Accessories

Is it Easier/harder to install than an electrical one?

It says all fittings are supplied separately so what else do i need to buy.

Cheers

i would say it is harder, and elec easyer to do.

as with a elec one, you just need to feed the wires into the car, and a mech one, you need to feed a boost line to the gauge with out putting any kinks etc in the line.

i have used both, and i would stay with elec now

so how does the electric one work if there is no boost line connected, where does it take the reading from?

What do you think of Swoosh gauges i've read mixed things when i did a search,

on my gauges the sensors are in the engine bay, i have taken a T off one of the manifold pipes and that goes to a boost sensor that caome with the gauge. then from this sensor to the gauge by wire.

so electrical is the easier one to fit. I 'll go for one of those then.

I was told that an electrical boost gauge was not as accurate as a mechanical one, as the mechanical one is connected straight to a boost hose

Dude.

You have to do exactly the same thing on a Mechical one to a Electric one.1!!

With manual you run a pipe through the bulk

with Electric you run wires therough the bulk

So surly the manual is easyer as less wires. just two for the back light.

Ive fitted both and id say Manual is quicker

Basically for a mechanical one you will need a length of tubing at least 6ft, a t-piece, and a fitting to screw on to the back of the gauge.
They should do a fitting kit.
