another FMIC question..
ive been offered a hybrid front mount intercooler with pipe work , but ive got a 94L wagon import , standard tdo4 turbo , and standard ECU , the ecu cannot be mapped so im told as its standard , so i need a Z4 i know , but can i still fitt a front mount intercooler and what affect will it have on the car with the standard parts. .

A z4 would be no use to you, its mapped for a td05.
You will need a mappable ecu like a power fc or the esl live map board.
If you was to fit the fmic without changing anything else you would get turbo lag i believe.

See www.polarperfromance.co.uk or JollyGreenMonster.co.uk and i think Bob Rawle maps the ESL live chipsets

i wouldn't bother on a standard car you will get increased lag and no real power improvement.
